MARU SPORT – RAINMAKERS IN SPORT AND ENTERTAINMENT MARKETING

Maru Sport knows that to stay on top of its game, a company cannot stagnate. Flexibility and adaptability are key to keeping your eye on the ball, believes Chief Executive Officer Mosire Motsei.

Which is why, in its eighth year, this specialist event management and sports sponsorship company is set to position itself as Rainmakers in Sport and Entertainment Marketing.

The company's name, Maru, means cloud, and is derived from the Setswana word Maru a Pula, which means rain clouds, and forms the foundation for the company's rebranding. "Just as rain brings growth, we bring success and prosperity to our clients by creating value and unlocking potential," explains Motsei.

"We are in touch with our environment and our relationships, and strive to create and deliver value, for our clients, our partners, ourselves and our country. To do this requires us to work hard at being up to date, respectful of diversity, enterprising and above all, reliable in our delivery," says Motsei, explaining Maru's vision.

Maru knows that successful event management is about creating an experience that is unique from the next and will keep this principle upper mind as it repositions itself in the market.

Apart from a new logo and positioning, Maru is adding two new services to its portfolio: sponsorship consulting and sports and entertainment tourism. The latter will facilitate the involvement in sport or entertainment sponsorship of interested companies, and manage the fit between the sponsor's brand or product and the event. The latter will become a pivotal service offered by Maru and see the creation of a tourism division, using entertainment and sport to drive tourism. In essence, Maru will use its experience to create comprehensive sports and entertainment packages, offering unique touches that will make for unforgettable experiences.

These new focus areas will complement Maru's current offerings of event management; sponsorship right management; and hospitality management

.

Maru's professional team will ensure that every aspect of a corporate's event is tailored.

Existing sponsorship and hospitality opportunities are available for the following events: The South African Open Championship – Durban Country Club (www.southafricanopen.com), The South African Ladies Open - Johannesburg, and the J&B Met Hospitality Village – Cape Town (www.jbmet.co.za). Maru owns the exclusive promotion rights in these spheres.
